Using their 1997 debut full-length The Dandy, three-piece Anne Summers, comprising bassist Alec Boyagy, guitarist Andrew Poitano, and drummer Paul Swegle — with eventual replacement Brad Samuels playing on a number of the songs — showcased their upbeat force pop that looked up to Elvis Costello as well as the Jam. The trio ultimately authorized to Beatville Information, where they released Extremely Classy in 2000.
