The sister of singer/songwriter David Dodson, Anne Dodson has balanced her career as an adult-oriented singer/songwriter with performances and recordings for children at schools and libraries. Performing being a soloist so that as an associate of folk groupings State Down and various Shoes, Dodson provides used music to talk about her love from the environment and animals. As a young child, Dodson performed folk music with her sibling. She didn’t become seriously interested in music, nevertheless, until she is at her twenties and became motivated with the folk performers she heard executing in local espresso homes. In the past due ’70s, Dodson changed Pat Lown in State Down, remaining using the group for five years. Since State Down’s reunion in 1991, she’s continued to execute periodically using the group. Until lately, Dodson also performed and documented with Different Sneakers, playing cello in the five-piece music group. In 1991, Dodson fulfilled Matt Szostak, a cittern, electric guitar, and hurdy-gurdy participant and harmony vocalist, while sailing in Maine’s Penobscot Bay. Furthermore to writing a house and traveling jointly, Dodson and Szostak possess occasionally performed being a duo since 1992. Dodson’s debut single record, Tranquility Grange, premiered in 1986. She implemented it with In ITS Sweet Amount of time in 1990 and From Where I Sit down in 1994. Her initial album targeted at kids and their own families, Nearly Grown, premiered the following calendar year. Dodson’s albums possess featured guest performances by Gordon Bok, Lisa Redfern, and Cindy Kallet. Many cuts on Nearly Grown highlighted the choral performing of 42 5th graders in the Asa Adams Primary College in Orono, Maine. Dodson also performs using the Quasimodal Chorus, a casual band of professional and nonprofessional performers including Bok and Kallet.
