Anna-Lena Laurin

b. Sweden. Laurin started playing piano as a kid, studying traditional music. After that she performed alto saxophone before finally buying performing. Her initial musical knowledge as a specialist was in rock and roll and she also sang Irish folk and Balkan music amongst a great many other forms. Declaring herself to become unsatisfied at that time using what she was performing, she shifted to Malmö in 1987 and found that jazz was her mér. She sings with many Malmö-based groupings including Con Brio and, specifically Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum, a music group composed of Anders Bergcrantz (trumpet, flügelhorn), Rolf Nilsson (acoustic guitar), Hans Andersson (bass), Kristofer Johnansson (drums). While including requirements in her jazz repertoire, Laurin writes significant amounts of her personal material, terms and music, and writes her personal arrangements. In overall performance, she sings as an ensemble member instead of as a presented singer. She actually is also thinking about Brazilian music plus some of her personal work displays this using its Latin nuances.
