Ann Nesby

Previously the lead vocalist for the 30-piece gospel choir Seems of Blackness, Ann Nesby struck from her own in 1996 with an album for the Perspective label, Ann Nesby 1996. By using super-producers Jam & Lewis, the R&B-oriented LP obtained popular with “I’m Right here for you personally.” Nesby offers contributed to many soundtracks (Batman, Mo’ Cash, Demolition Man) and tribute albums (to Curtis Mayfield, Marvin Gaye, John Lennon). She’s also received two Grammy honours: one within Seems of Blackness for the 1991 recording Development of Gospel, plus another for the edition of Handel’s Messiah entitled A Soulful Special event.
