Ann Gray

Calgary-based bagpipe player Ann Gray originally hailed from Nova Scotia, which demonstrated an excellent spot to learn the fantastic Highland Bagpipe, her instrument of preference. Gray also performed the smallpipes, whistles, mandolin and bodhran on her behalf own single recordings in addition to performing using the Celtic folk music group, Seanachie. She’s won many renowned prizes on her behalf bagpipe playing, like the Dunvegan Yellow metal Medal in 1995. Gray’s single albums stay pretty near to the Scottish folk custom while still enabling some creative invention. Her debut record was A Twist within the Story and she implemented up with Shouting At Magpies, that was released in 1999 from the KRL label.
