Anjani

A indigenous of Honolulu, Hawaii, pianist/vocalist Anjani combines her love of jazz with folk, Hawaiin, along with other diverse music influences. Created Anjani Thomas, she went to Berklee University of Music in Boston before shifting to NEW YORK. Through the early ’80s she performed around Manhattan, later on meeting legendary vocalist/songwriter Leonard Cohen. Following tours and documenting use Cohen on such albums as his 1988 launch I’m Your Man and 1992’s THE NEAR FUTURE resulted in Anjani’s 1st self-titled solo recording released in 2000. A yr later on she released the spiritually minded The Sacred Titles. Once more teaming up with co-writer and maker Cohen, Anjani released Blue Alert on Sony in 2006.
