Gospel vocalist and East St. Louis indigenous Anita Wilson was attracted to music and performing young, and with time she created a vocal design that merged traditional gospel with jazz, pop, and R&B affects like Ella Fitzgerald, Stevie Question, and Aretha Franklin, and in conjunction with her range and strategy, she became a very much in demand back-up vocalist for modern gospel and compliment & worship works like Hezekiah Walker, Marvin Sapp, DeWayne Woods, and Vanessa Bell Armstrong. She also spent a stint being a vocalist with Donald Lawrence & Co., turning her single on “Happy Getting Me” from Lawrence’s REGULATIONS of Confession record into a limelight preferred. Her debut record as a single artist, Worship Spirit, which included an extraordinary first one, “Speechless,” made an appearance in 2012.
