Angie & Debbie Winans

Biography

The ninth and tenth children of Mother & Pop Winans, Angie and Debbie Winans was raised in probably the most music family within the gospel industry, and quickly followed in the footsteps of the older brothers (who record because the Winans) and brother-sister act BeBe & CeCe (who have been the seventh and eighth born, respectively). The set sang backup vocals with countless Winans tasks and also toured with Whitney Houston. Their self-titled debut recording premiered in 1993 on Capitol. 1997’s Daring did well within the gospel graphs, though one track, “Not Organic,” produced controversy because of Angie & Debbie’s traditional sights on homosexuality.
