Angelo Mercuriale was dynamic as a position comprimario vocalist (i actually.e., character component participant) in Italian opera in the 1950s. Therefore he participated in a number of essential opera recordings, including Tosca (as the Sacristan) with Maria Callas, Goro in Renata Tebaldi’s Madama Butterfly, The Judge in Un Ballo in Maschera starring Bastianini, Bruno in the Callas-Serafin I Puritani, as well as the Notary in Joan Sutherland’s La Sonnambula.
