Angel Rot

Shaped in 1991 by Light Zombie’s first guitarist Tom 5 (so nicknamed, legend provides it, because his playing was the equal of five guitarists), New Jersey’s Angel Rot was perhaps one of the most overlooked players in New York’s underground steel scene through the ’90s. With bassist Mike Davis and drummer Steven Kleiner in tow, Angel Rot documented their debut, Unlistenable Hymns of Indulgent Damnage, in 1993. However the grasp tapes had been reputedly lost and also after being retrieved, the album just noticed the light of day time six years later on when it had been released from the Man’s Damage label. At that time, the trio’s touring lineup included bassist Gyda Gash and drummer Scott Octane.
