Biography

Andy Scheinman is certainly a product from the Nashville music picture, however, not the Nashville music machine. He focuses on a mixture of folk and nation — Scheinman phone calls it “folk-western” — that owes even more to Bob Dylan than to Garth Brooks or Shania Twain. Scheinman brings a northeastern sensibility to his music, having graduated from NY University using a level in music. Within the NY, he fronted a rock-band known as the Astorians that produced waves in the faculty rock picture and scored starting gigs with serves like the Substitutes and Living Color. The band’s debut record was Guffaw; it made an appearance in 1987. A season later Scheinman transferred to Vermont. He spent seven years there journey fishing and composing songs before shifting to Nashville in 1995 to jump-start his profession being a solo musician. While maintaining per day job being a sports activities journalist for International Boxing Break down, Scheinman began producing the restaurant rounds and finished up starting for songwriters like Martin Sexton, Vance Gilbert, and Iris DeMent. His debut record, Make Amends, premiered in the Tangible label in 1999. It elevated Scheinman’s account and prompted promotional trips through the entire U.S. and overseas.
