Andy Prieboy

Songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, musician, and playwright Andy Prieboy grew up in East Chicago, IN, where he wrote his initial song at age 12. In his past due teens, he shifted to NJ, played in an area band, and proved helpful as a home furniture mover in NEW YORK. Following the group’s break up he relocated to SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA and became a member of a combo known as Eye Security. Six years afterwards, following a business lead on a creation deal wanted to him with the son of the wealthy property developer who was simply secretly utilizing the cash to front side his medication habit, Prieboy shifted to LA. The company utilized Prieboy being a scapegoat, ultimately suing the musician to hide the son’s medication expenditures, which resulted in a long episode of litigation that compelled Prieboy to reduce possession of his tracks — he was ultimately acquitted. Prieboy’s string of misfortune took a switch at a celebration in LA where a fulfilled an exceptionally drunk Bruce Moreland — bass participant for Wall structure of Voodoo — who asked him to become listed on the band because the replacement for lately departed lead vocalist Stan Ridgway. In 1985 the group — with Prieboy — released the critically acclaimed A WEEK in Sammystown, accompanied by 1987’s Happy Globe along with a live documenting called Ugly Us citizens in Australia in 1988. That same season, following the band’s demise, Prieboy had written a song known as “Tomorrow Wendy” for Cement Blonde’s discovery record, Bloodletting, and started focus on what would become his debut, Upon My Wicked Boy. Released in 1990 on the physician Fantasy label, the record mixed Prieboy’s desire for vaudeville, artwork, opera, and satire, and was generally well received but do little harm commercially — although “Adoring the Highway Guy” was included in Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris in 1999. An EP implemented in 1991 known as Montezuma Was a guy of Beliefs, which highlighted a country edition of Led Zeppelin’s “Entire Lotta Appreciate” sung with Cement Blonde’s Johnette Napolitano. In 1995 Prieboy’s most ambitious task premiered: the sprawling Sins in our Fathers, which required around the record market, psychotic ex-lovers, and religious beliefs having a wit and accuracy that founded Prieboy as a genuine underground hero.
