Andy McKaie


Reissue compiler and maker Andy McKaie comes with an impressive set of achievements. As vice chief executive of catalog advancement and A&R for Common Music Special Marketplaces, he offers supervised critically acclaimed reissues extracted from the substantial MCA Information catalog which include the catalogs of Chess Information, Don Robey’s Duke-Peacock Information, ABC Information, and Decca Information, among numerous others. The Flushing, NY, indigenous moved to LA, CA, in 1981. His profession includes working like a rock and roll critic along with a publicist. In 1986, he was employed to oversee MCA’s reissue section. Preferring to function from the initial stereo two-track experts, McKaie has gained two Grammy Honours: Reissue Manufacturer of the entire year for Chuck Berry’s The Chess Container and Reissue Co-Producer of the entire year for Billie Holiday’s THE ENTIRE Decca Recordings. McKaie was also instrumental in reissuing lengthy out of print out recordings by blues star B.B. Ruler. King’s Greatest Hits (MCA), The Mamas & the Papas’ Greatest Hits, Uptown Rulin’: THE VERY BEST from the Neville Brothers, Muddy Waters’ His Greatest: 1947-1955, as well as the Compact disc reissue from the soundtrack from the 1971 Gene Wilder children’s film Willy Wonka & the Delicious chocolate Stock. In 1999, he became Mature Vice Leader of A&R for General Music Companies where he co-created and created the 20th Hundred years Experts: Millennium Collection, which quickly became the best-selling, mid-price series which the music industry acquired produced up to now. This year 2010 he was awarded the “Keeping the Blues Alive” Manufacturer Award from Memphis’ Blues Base.
