Andy Davis

Biography

The rock & roll career of Andy Davis could be filled with his own bandleading highlights, yet he continues to be heard from the widest audience in his almost equally busy role like a sideman. Davis, who’s sometimes identified beneath the name of Andrew Cresswell Davis, performed classical guitar and sang support vocals on John Lennon’s Imagine recording. Regardless of the grandeur of his name, this designer shouldn’t be mistaken for the fantastic English conductor and key pad performer called Andrew Davis. Stackridge, something of the eccentric country-rock music group that Andy Davis founded in 1970, place him in to the major-label orbit: the group produced a half-dozen albums more than a half a 10 years for MCA, Elton John’s Rocket label, Warner Brothers, and Sire. The Beatles connection continuing on the group’s third recording, entitled THE PERSON within the Bowler Hat and made by Sir George Martin. In 1979, Davis and previous Stackridge mate Wayne Warren became songwriting companions and started a fresh music group, the Korgis. Regardless of the success of the venture it barely represents the finish of Davis’ collaborations. He in addition has created with Roger Make from Nashville, the vocalist Yaz, Clive Deamer of Portishead, and many more. He previously added details of guitar, key pad, and vocalizing to edges by Tears for Worries, Expenses Nelson, Julian Deal, Spiritualized, Goldfrapp, as well as the uncommon avant-garde composer and performer Moondog. Davis in addition has released a set of albums under his personal name.

#Quote
1 [about working with Steven Seagal on Under Siege (1992) and Above the Law (1988)] I worked with him twice. The first time he was a puppy dog. We had worked on the story together and he was very open to trying things. And then by the time "Under Siege" came along he'd done three or four movies and he was a bit of a star. Bear in mind, he was really only in "Under Siege" for 41 minutes. It was Tommy Lee Jones most of the time. But yeah, he's good.

#Trademark
1 Frequently casts 'Ron Dean', Joseph F. Kosala, Joe Pantoliano and his father 'Nathan Davis' (I).
2 Frequently sets his films in Chicago
