Andy Boy

b. c.1906, Galveston, Tx, USA, d. USA. Among several Tx blues piano players that included Rob Cooper and Robert Shaw, Youngster proved helpful the seaport cities from the southern coastline, including Houston and Galveston. His playing provides touches of old ragtime styles in addition to blues, as could be noticed from his exceptional accompaniments for the simple vocals of Houston vocalist Joe Pullum, but his greatest work may be the group of eight recordings he designed for Bluebird Information in San Antonio in 1937, notably the stunning ‘Church Road Blues’. He also followed Walter Cowboy Washington at the same program. He was last heard about within the 50s, in Kansas Town, where he previously relocated around enough time of World Battle II.
