Andrew Douglas

b. 19 June 1920, Hackney, London, Britain, d. 20 Apr 2003, Bognor Regis, Western world Sussex, Britain. A prolific composer and arranger, who constructed many film and tv ratings, Douglas also documented with many best singers and marketed an incredible number of albums, including 80 designed for RCA Information. A talented kid pianist, Douglas shaped a dance music group while still at college and after departing education used the Neville Hughes sextet. A personal injury during wartime assistance within the RAF compelled him to stop piano playing for a while, and focus on composing and organizing. After the battle he was popular from Bert Ambrose, Ted Heath, Edmundo Ros, Cyril Stapleton, Billy Natural cotton, Joe Reduction, Mantovani, Jack port Parnell as well as other best British rings. He also followed Howard Keel, Shirley Jones, Moira Anderson, Shirley Bassey, Utmost Bygraves, Al Martino, John Hanson, Dennis Lotis, Barbra Streisand, Vera Lynn, Tex Ritter (Douglas was around the 1952 strike ‘Large Noon’), Harry Secombe and Frankie Vaughan, among numerous others.
