Andrew Brown

b. 25 Feb 1937, Jackson, Mississippi, USA, d. 11 Dec 1985. An extremely versatile musician, Dark brown began playing electric guitar as a young child and after shifting with his mom to Chicago in 1946, was inspired by Earl Hooker. In the 50s he was connected with Freddie Ruler and Magic Sam, but he also performed jazz. He was drafted in to the equipped solutions in 1956, and on his release settled simply outside Chicago. In the middle-60s he documented for the Four Brothers label; his singles generally coupled a fantastic blues with a far more commercial part, and he also published materials for G.L. Crockett. He released an individual on Daring in the first 70s, and despite health issues documented for Alligator, Dark Magic and Dual Problems in the years preceding his loss of life from lung malignancy.
