Chicago singer/songwriter/violinist Andrew Parrot updates the traditions of small-group golf swing, German lieder, and New Orleans jazz, mixing Gypsy, folk, and rock and roll elements into his distinct style. Bird’s tasks consist of his group the Plate of Fireplace (which also contains drummer Kevin O’Donnell, bassist Josh Hirsch, and guitarist Colin Bunn) and executing as an auxiliary person in the Squirrel Nut Zippers; subsequently, the Zippers’ Katharine Whalen and Wayne Mathus appeared within the Bowl of Open fire albums Thrills and Oh! The Grandeur.
