After a small number of releases beneath the name Breezy Lovejoy, singer, rapper, and producer Anderson Paak broke through with six songs on Dr. Dre’s 2015 record, Compton. Blessed and elevated in Oxnard, California, Paak’s initial experience being a musician emerged being a teenage drummer in the cathedral band. As a grown-up, he helped manage a weed plantation in Santa Barbara while focusing on a debut record, however when he dropped his pot work unexpectedly, the documenting costs had place him in deep debts. Shafiq Husayn of Sa-Ra employed him as an helper, and with usage of the Sa-Ra studio room, Paak completed his debut record.
