Following the 1999 breakup from the Tallahassee, FL-based Bacon Ray, guitarist and singer Mike Colman and drummer Bruce Hamilton shifted to create Ancient Brain down the road that year. Carrying on on using their prior rings method of ’70s prog rock and roll and experimental punk, John McNeece (bass/harmonica) and Afrosheen mastermind Afshin Beheshti (keyboards/saxophone) finished the lineup as AAJ Information debuted Ancient Mind around the 2000 compilation of When Worlds Collide.
