Israeli-born saxophonist, clarinetist, and flutist Anat Cohen can be an adroit jazz musician using a bent toward advanced post-bop, Brazilian music, and split, modern innovative improvisation. Created in Tel Aviv, Israel in 1975, Cohen was raised inside a musical family members alongside her two brothers, soprano saxophonist Yuval Cohen and trumpeter Avishai Cohen. As a kid, she began with clarinet lessons, later on adding saxophone while going to the Jaffa Music Center. After completing her compulsory armed service service, where time she performed within the Israeli Air flow Force Big Music group, Cohen enrolled at Boston’s Berklee University of Music, eventually graduating having a Bachelor of Arts in Professional Music. Upon graduating Berklee in the past due ’90s she relocated to NEW YORK, where she discovered use such luminaries as bandleader Duduka Da Fonseca, vocalist/percussionist Cyro Baptista, trumpeter Ingrid Jensen, drummer Louis Hayes, guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli, pianist Rachel Z, and many more. She actually is a longtime person in the all-female big music group DIVA, along with the Brazilian jazz-influenced Choro Outfit. She also takes on and records frequently with her siblings within the jazz group 3 Cohens. Like a single designer, Cohen debuted with 2005’s Place and Period, accompanied by 2007’s Noir, 2007’s Poetica, and 2008’s Records from the Town. This year 2010 she shipped the concert recording Clarinetwork: Live in the Town Vanguard. 2 yrs later she came back with Claroscuro. In 2015 Cohen released her seventh recording as innovator, the eclectic, Brazilian choro-infused Luminosa.
