Anastasia Screamed

Biography

Tumbling from the same late-’80s post-punk Boston music scene that created the Lemonheads, Dinosaur Jr., as well as the Pixies, geography was the thing that Anastasia Screamed got in common making use of their contemporaries. Having a dark, discordant hard rock and roll audio that owed just as much to sonic assassins like Hüsker Dü and Led Zeppelin regarding the pop-oriented university radio rock and roll popular at that time, Anastasia Screamed gained a loyal viewers along the Northeastern coastline with their unstable live performances. Shaped in 1987 by guitarist Chris Cugini and drummer Chris Burdett, the music group went through several roster changes before pair fulfilled songwriter/guitarist Chick Graning within the subway 1 day. The musical passions from the three had been related and, enlisting assistance from bassist Michael Lord, they documented the self-released five-song Electric powered Liz EP in Boston’s Fort Apache studios. Made by Sean Slade, the 1988 EP found the eye of London’s Open fire Records, which authorized Anastasia Screamed with their Roughneck imprint. Exhausting from the competitive Boston music picture (and high bills), the music group found and transferred to Nashville on the recommendation of Tennessee indigenous Graning. Bassist Charlie Bock changed Lord for the documenting of Laughing Down the Limehouse, the band’s 1990 debut record. Well received with the Uk music press, Laughing Down the Limehouse created a U.K. strike in “Samantha Dark.” The five-song EP 15 Secs or 5 Times implemented in 1991. Distribution complications stateside, in conjunction with label complications abroad, prompted the music group to split up in 1992, with Graning heading on to type the music group Scarce.
