Amiina

Amina (later changing its name to Amiina) can be an experimental quartet who is able to often be found out taking part in live and dealing with fellow popular Icelandic music group Sigur Rós. Merging violins and cellos with ambient consumer electronics, the group contains Hildur Ársælsdóttir, Edda Rún Ólafsdóttir, Maria Huld Markan Sigfúsdóttir, and Sólrún Sumarliðadvertisementóttir. The four fulfilled while their studies at the Reykjavík University of Music within the 1990s. In past due 2004, they finally self-released an effective EP, AnimaminA, found by U.S. label The Worker’s Institute in-may 2005. Their 1st full-length recording, Kurr, found its way to March 2007.
