The underground punk band American Steel was founded in 1995 while creating a name for themselves within the SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA punk district. The Western Oakland staff comprised vocalist/guitarist Rory Henderson, guitarist Ryan Massey, bassist John Peck, and drummer Jamie Kissinger; Kissinger was changed by Scott Healy in 1996 behind the package, though he afterwards came back around 2000. They separately released a 7″ entitled “Wish Wanted” as well as the initial pressing sold-out almost immediately because of the heavy press for the first-ever U.S. tour in past due 1996.
