American Blues

Created in Dallas, Tx, USA, in 1968, the American Blues developed from local golf club attraction the Warlocks when Rocky Hill (guitar), Dusty Hill (b. Joe Hill, 19 Might 1949, Dallas, Tx, USA; bass), Doug Davis (body organ) and Frank Beard (b. 11 June 1949, Frankston, Tx, USA; drums) took their fresh name upon implementing a far more ‘intensifying’ sound. The American Blues IS HERE NOW, released on the neighborhood Karma Information label, presented their reworking of Tim Hardin’s ‘If I Had been A Carpenter’ and generated adequate interest to protected a major agreement with Uni Information. The American Blues Perform Their Thing provided a kind of hard rock and roll psychedelia, as evinced by such game titles as ‘Chocolates Ego’ and ‘Headache Of A Smart Man’, however the album didn’t spark national curiosity. The group disintegrated quickly afterwards, with 1st Beard, after that Dusty Hill, becoming a member of ZZ Top.
