Amédé Breaux


Amede Breaux recorded approximately two dozen tunes between 1928 and 1951. With siblings Cleoma Breaux Falcon, Clifford Breaux, and Ophey Breaux, he 1st documented “Poor Hobo,” “Jolie Blonde,” and “Stage It Fast.” Later on, he and his two brothers became a member of forces because the Breaux Brothers Band. The brothers became a favorite crowd pleaser within their house condition of Louisiana and into Tx. Their repertoire included “Felony Waltz,” “Crowley Two Stage,” “Hathaway Two Stage,” and “Chere Mother.” The Cajun Music Hall of Popularity named Breaux as you of its first inductees in 1997, putting him one of the rates of such Cajun music artists as Dewey Balfa, Nathan Abshire, Joe Bonsall, Fernest “Guy” Abshire, and Shirley Ray Bergeron. Breaux was created within the Louisiana city of Robert’s Cove near Rayne in 1900. At age 12, he used the accordion and within 2 yrs he started to perform at regional house parties.
