Amazing Mr. Smith

b. Derek Smith, 1 Apr 1948, Croydon, Surrey, Britain. This funny performer started playing folk night clubs, associated himself on electric guitar. He then used some folk groups through the 60s before signing up for Crazy Oats in 1970. He paid out for his weakened voice by performing silly tracks and using intricate props in his stage work, including performing along with his mind in the birdcage. After dubbing himself the Amazing Mr. Smith, he guaranteed wider bookings. Still playing folk night clubs, he also performs at theatres, arts centres and on the choice cabaret circuit. Smith provides made an appearance on UK tv’s Video game For FUN and Chris Tarrant’sProve It, and released the videoThe Atmosphere WITH NO Smoke cigarettes, in 1991. He continues to be a very well-known and highly first club and celebration act.
