A fortuitous 2000 ending up in a skill scout in her native Fort Wayne, IN, resulted in Amanda Perez getting signed simply by California-based indie Powerhouse. A flexible performer who had written, sang, and created her own materials, it wasn’t a lot of a stage for Perez to get herself within a studio room helming the creation of her debut record. Where You At? lowered in 2001. Buoyed by achievement in minor marketplaces like San Antonio, TX, and her hometown, the record soon caught the eye of Virgin, which released it in wider distribution and released the smooth metropolitan soul one “Angel.” The monitor was a crossover strike, and Perez was a superstar. She released the greater upbeat follow-up “I LOVE It” immediately after, and completed out 2003 using a circular of club schedules in select metropolitan areas. The albums Angel and I Pray implemented in quick succession. Both produces peaked within the very best 100 from the Billboard 200 record chart.
