Amai Muchena

Music in Zimbabwe is often sacramental, and in zero case is this more true than where in fact the mbira can be involved. Muchena is among a small number of females who play this device resembling a thumb piano. As well as her music group Muri ko Muchena, she’s been performing because the age group of five. Deeply worried to protect the sacrality encircling the mbira, Muchena won’t perform in Zimbabwe’s ale halls, reserving her music for a far more sober audience.
