A quartet located in Ural, Russia (3,000 mls from Moscow), AMA Jazz (“Association of Music artists of Avant-Garde”) includes Vladislav Talabuyev on saxophones and clarinet, pianist Anatoly Tilsov, electric powered bassist Alexander Brykin, drummer Valery Zhilin. Their music (a lot of it not really inspired by American jazz) is fairly original and it has so far been documented just on a 1995 Leo Laboratory CD.
