Biography

A trailblazing power in psycho-acoustic music, avant-garde composer and performer Alvin Lucier was created in Nashua, New Hampshire in 1931; informed at Yale and Brandeis, he also spent 2 yrs in Rome on the Fulbright Scholarship or grant before time for Brandeis in 1962 to instruct and carry out the university’s chamber chorus. His discovery structure, Music for Single Performer (1964-1965) for Enormously Amplified Human brain Waves and Percussion, was the initial function to feature noises generated by human brain waves in live show; biological stimuli performed an increasing function in Lucier’s following are well, especially through his notation of performers’ physical actions.
