In the first ’90s, Colombian brothers Jorge and Sady Ramírez teamed up with singers Carolina Ovalle, Jhanio Coronado, and Willy Garcés to create a tropical threesome to spend tribute to Sonora Matancera, perhaps one of the most successful orchestras in the Latin music field. Alquimia debuted using the discharge of Leyenda, accompanied by the self-produced Leyenda II. Nicknamed “la Sonora del XXI” (“the audio from the 21st Hundred years”) after effectively executing in the U.S., Alquimia came back with Tras la Huella, which highlighted vocals by Marco Antonio and John Jairo Ibáñez. Afterwards, they introduced vocalist Patricia Moncayo.
