Alphons Czibulka

Hungarian composer and armed service bandmaster. Czibulka’s compositions consist of operettas, dance music and salon music. His preferred type was the dance and he published the favorite “Stephanie-Gavotte”. His piano playing required him to Russia, Innsbruck, Trieste and Vienna. When Sullivan’s “Yeoman from the Safeguard” and “The Gondoliers” had been performed in Germany, Czibulka organized dances using their musical ideas.
