Alphataurus

A dramatic Italian rock-band readily bearing assessment for an unholy collision of Uriah Heep and Vehicle der Graaf Generator, Alphataurus emerged from the town of Milan during 1971 and released their self-titled debut album the next year, independently Magma label. Highly valued by Western prog aficionados, Alphataurus is really as remarkable because of its sleeve — an antiwar-themed triple gatefold — for its material, a dramatic soundscape made up of simply five tunes but a variety of moods and textures. Focus on another Alphataurus recording commenced later on in the entire year, but the classes had been doomed to failing. Only a couple of instrumental demos was finished before the music group split up; the tapes consequently (1993) made an appearance as Dietro l’Uragano, but are appealing to completists just. The music group resumed activity this year 2010.
