Sketching comparisons to Chvrches, Ellie Goulding, and pre-Silent Shout Knife with her airy yet edgy electropop, singer/songwriter Allie X produced her debut in early 2014 with a set of attention-getting singles, “Capture” and “Best.” Created Allie Hughes, she researched traditional piano and tone of voice in the Interlochen Arts Academy and graduated from Sheridan College’s Musical Theatre Performance system. She began producing music in her hometown of Toronto in the middle-2000s, using local rings and composing and recording a small number of self-released albums. In July of 2013 she shifted to LA with the purpose to become a full-time songwriter after putting your signature on a publishing offer. However, she continuing to focus on her personal materials, by herself and with Billboard and Cirkut, a set of producers associated with hitmaker Dr. Luke. In Feb 2014 she released her debut solitary, “Capture” (which cleverly likened heartbreak to disease), online to compliment from resources as assorted as Time Journal and Katy Perry. Per month later on, the brassy, brittle “Primary” came. In Apr 2015 she released CollXtion I, a couple of seven tracks supplemented by visuals and a comic. She also caused Troye Sivan on his Blue Neighbourhood recording that yr, and toured with him in 2016. Allie X released the singles “Casanova” and “That’s Therefore Us” before her sophomore recording, CollXtion II, which found its way to June 2017.
