Biography
b. Alice LaPize, 3 March 1889, Paris, France, d. 9 Feb 1979, Brighton, Sussex, Britain. After appearing in a number of stage productions in Paris, Delysia performed on Broadway within the chorus from the Catch Of THE GROWING SEASON (1905). Leading functions soon adopted and in 1912 she was back Paris for The Quaker Woman along with other productions. Upon her go back to London she required advantage of several possibilities to play in revues and musical comedies, specifically in adaptations of French functions. Among these was Afgar, Ou Les Loisirs Andalous (1919), where she also made an appearance in america the following 12 months. Another American creation where she made an appearance was The Courtesan (1923) but from your middle-20s and through in to the middle-30s she was mainly to be observed in London’s Western Result in a succession of revues and musical comedies, included in this Princess Enchanting (1926), The Kitty AS WELL AS THE Fiddle (1932), Mom Of Pearl (1933) with The Metallic Swan (1936). From after that onwards until her pension Delysia performed mainly in nonmusical takes on, although she also toured range theatres and gave track recitals. She retired to Tenerife and, following her spouse’s loss of life, spent her staying times in Brighton, Britain.
