Biography
The violin continues to be transformed into a significant sound of salsa and Latin music by Cuban-born and Colombia-based violinist Alfredo de la Fe. The very first solo violinist to execute using a salsa orchestra, de la Fe provides toured the planet a lot more than 30 situations, showing up in concert and taking part on a lot more than 100 albums by such top-ranked Latin performers as Eddie Palmieri, Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Jose “Un Canario” Alberto, Cheo Feliciano, the Fania All-Stars, and Santana. His second single record, Alfredo, released in 1979, received a Grammy nomination for “Greatest Latin record.” A kid prodigy, de la Fe began monitoring violin on the Amadio Roldan Conservatory in Havana in 1962. 2 yrs afterwards, he received a scholarship or grant to wait the Warsaw Conservatory in Poland. In 1965, he performed compositions by Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky using the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra at Carnegie Hall. A scholarship or grant to Julliard Arts allowed him to help expand his research. De la Fe released his professional profession at age 12, when he turned from traditional music to salsa and recognized an invitation to become listed on charanga star José Fajardo’s Orchestra. In 1972, he became a member of Eddie Palmieri’s Orchestra. He continued to be using the group for an extremely short period, shifting temporarily to SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA where he became a member of Santana. Time for NY, de la Fe became a member of la Topica ’73 in 1977. 2 yrs afterwards, he released his debut single record, Alfredo. In 1980, he agreed upon with Sars All Superstars, and created 32 albums for the Latin record label. His second single record, Charanga ’80, premiered the same calendar year. In 1981, de la Fe became musical movie director of Tito Puente’s Latin Percussion Jazz Outfit. The following calendar year, he resumed his solo profession, putting your signature on with Taboga, for whom he documented the record Triunfo. Relocating to Colombia in 1983, de la Fe agreed upon with Phillips and released three albums — Manufactured in Colombia, Bailando en un Tropico, and Alfredo de la Fe Vallenato — by the finish from the ’80s. In 1989, he turned towards the Fuentes label. Although he became a member of the Fania All-Stars in 1995, de la Fe continuing to pursue a single career. He agreed upon with Sony Music in 1997. 2 yrs afterwards, he toured along with his very own band, showing up at celebrations in Denmark, Holland, France, Turkey, and Belgium, and reunited with Eddie Palmieri’s Orchestra for the Western european tour. Latitudes premiered in fall 2000.
