Alfie

The Manchester quintet Alfie (singer Lee Gorton, guitarist Ian Smith, cellist Matt McGeever, bassist Sam Morris, and drummer Sean Kelly), came into being in the past due ’90s after Gorton became increasingly sick and tired of the neighborhood music scene — when most bands at that time were merely rehashing Oasis songs. The music group caught a rest with their initial show once the U.K. publication NME was performing articles on a number of different English music moments, and occurred to arrive upon the brand new group, looking at the display and printing an image of the music group. The music group quickly befriended Damon Gough (better-known as Terribly Drawn Boy), who quickly authorized the group to his recently founded Twisted Nerve label. Soon after, Alfie released many singles/EPs — The Alfie EP, Bookends, and Montevideo, while their full-length debut, IN THE EVENT THAT YOU Happy With YOU WILL NEED Do Nothing, noticed the light of day time in 2001.
