Alexis Gideon is the fact that rare bird, an innovative eccentric who left NEW YORK to pursue his very individual muse someplace else. Gideon initial gained the eye of ambitious music supporters in Chicago, when he produced the warped hip-hop duo Princess with Michael O’Neill; fusing basic but cool beats with lo-fi digital accompaniment and off-kilter instrumental interludes offering anything from faint strains of banjo to overdriven electrical guitars, Princess suggests what may have occurred if Ween or Eugene Chadbourne acquired started hearing a whole lot of OutKast. Princess released an record over the Chicago-based Sickroom Information label in 2005, but in a short time, Gideon began concentrating his attention on the solo profession and still left the group to start out touring and documenting by himself (sometimes merely as Alexis), implementing an identical but slightly even more warped design.
