Alex Woodard

Southern California surfer Alex Woodard had scored many gigs on tv throughout his youth, often appearing over the Like Boat amongst others. He was also teaching himself to try out the piano and electric guitar during this time period, fantasizing of a profession of songwriting while alternately seeking his acting profession. After beginning at UCLA, Woodard finally started writing and transferred to Boston to capitalize on an excellent job. However, he was disappointed with his circumstance and wished to make contact with the West Coastline, so he loaded up and transferred to Seattle, Washington the next year. Woodard begun to discharge EPs in the past due 90’s and began making friends within the picture, including previous Posies/Sunny Day PROPERTY bassist Joe Bass and previous Posies/Fountains of Wayne drummer Brian Youthful. The three installed with guitarists Abel Ames and Phil Hurley (Gigolo Aunts) and started composing for Woodard’s initial record, Nowhere Near Right here. The album premiered in 2000 to enthusiastic testimonials, and the music group hit the street marketing the record. Following a brief break, Woodard came back in the summertime of 2002 with Saturn Profits, featuring exactly the same music group and much more of his lush power pop monitors.
