The ancient musical and dance traditions of southern Italy are resurrected by world-class tambourine player, percussionist, vocalist, dancer and actress Alessandra Belloni and her New York-based band, I Guillari Piazza (Players from the Square). Performers in residence on the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in NEW YORK as well as the Caramoor Museum Middle for Music and Artwork in Ketonah, NY, Belloni and her ensemble possess created some full-length presentations predicated on the folk misconceptions and rituals of Italy. Belloni was instructed, as a kid, in the original tambourine styles from the elder music artists in her house property and by important Italian percussionist Alfio Antico.
