Alceu Maia

Noticed by Beth Carvalho, who asked him to become listed on her strap, Alceu Maia (aka Alceu Cavaquinho and Alceu perform Cavaco) was among the members from the A Fina Flor perform Samba, that was Carvalho’s assisting group and in addition developed a single career. Maia also created the high-selling carnival information of the champ samba schools. Like a composer, he has already established over 100 tracks documented by Leci Brandão (“Talento de Verdade,” created with Brandão, and “Fogo no Ar,” with Jorge Aragão), Emílio Santiago, Alcione, Demônios da Garoa, Jair Rodrigues, Mestre Marçal, and Agepê, amongst others. Maia also participated both in the display and the recording Getz Bossa Nova, released in Japan, with Gilberto Gil, Leila Pinheiro, and Marcos Valle. Like a soloist, he documented, among additional albums, the Compact disc Brasil Chorinho with classics of choro.
