Throughout the span of the final a decade British producer Alan Moulder has surfaced as an integral figure in shaping the sound of British rock and has been producing waves in the us as well. Starting as an associate at London’s Trident Studios, Moulder worked well alongside fellow makers Brian Eno and Chris Thomas. Acquiring the formers penchant for experimental and digital noises, Moulder became a popular producer by English noise rock rings like the Jesus & Mary String, Swervedriver and My Bloody Valentine who wanted the studio room wizard out for his capability to drive the envelope through the use of fresh technology and results. Moulder created the seminal Loveless recording by My Bloody Valentine and his encounter with the key pad heavy Depeche Setting led him to combine Nine Inch Fingernails Downward Spiral launch aswell as U2’s attempt at electronica, Pop.
