Biography
Contemporary musical theater lyricist and librettist Alain Boublil is usually half of popular songwriting group with composer Claude-Michel Schönberg that’s in charge of the theater smash successes Les Misérables and Miss Saigon. Boublil published his 1st musical, La Trend Française, with Schönberg in 1973, as well as the duo teamed up five years later on to focus on Boublil’s idea for Les Misérables. The creation opened up in Paris 2 yrs later on. The English edition from the musical opened up in London in 1985 and was effective enough to keep running right through the past due ’90s. The Broadway creation of Les Misérables garnered two Tony Honours (1987 Greatest Score, Greatest Book) along with a Grammy (1988, Greatest Original Cast Documenting). Boublil’s follow-up was another wildly effective musical created with Schönberg, Miss Saigon, which opened up in London in nov 1989, and internationally soon thereafter. The duo’s following musical, Martin Guerre, opened up in London within the middle-’90s. Boublil also published a musical in line with the tunes of Swedish rock and roll group ABBA, known as Abbacadabra.
