Al Dubin

In tandem with composer Harry Warren, lyricist Al Dubin enjoyed an extraordinary run of hits through the entire 1930s, authoring standards like “We’re in the amount of money,” “I JUST HAVE Eyes for you personally,” and “Lullaby of Broadway.” Alexander Dubin was created June 10, 1891, in Zurich, Switzerland, but elevated mainly in Philadelphia, PA; he briefly went to medical college but was expelled in 1911, immediately after shifting to NY to pursue a profession like a songwriter. Although Globe War I pressured him to place his profession on keep, he came back from struggle with the thought of composing fresh lyrics for well-known instrumental themes, rating hits with variations of Dvorak’s “Humoresque” and Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Track of India.” As the 1920s found a detailed, Dubin resolved in Hollywood, teaming with composer Joe Burke to writer some strikes including “Tip-Toe Through the Tulips,” “Painting the Clouds With Sunlight,” “Like Will Find a means,” and “Dance With Tears in my own Eyes.” Through the pursuing decade, he became a member of causes with Harry Warren to rating film musicals like 42nd Road, Footlight Parade, and many of the Gold Diggers photos; throughout their five-year collaboration, the duo released an impressive group of well-known favorites which also contains “YOU ARE GETTING to be always a Habit BESIDE ME,” “The Boulevard of Damaged Dreams,” “Small and Healthy,” “With A lot of Money and also you,” and “Like Is usually Where You THINK IT IS.” Aside from Warren, Dubin also collaborated with composers including Victor Herbert (“Indian Summer time”), Will Grosz (“Along the Santa Fe Path”), and Duke Ellington (“I By no means Felt IN THIS MANNER Before”). Many years of hard living started acquiring their toll, nevertheless, and after struggling many years of illness Dubin passed away on Feb 11, 1945.
