Aka Moon

Belgian jazz trio Aka Moon — Fabrizio Cassol (alto sax), Michel Hatzigeorgiou (electrical bass), and Stéphane Galland (drums) — have already been together because the early ’90s. Acquiring their name from a lifestyle of Pygmies, Aka Moon’s music can be a highly first mixture of jazz, rock and roll, world music, contemporary composition, and even more. Through the group’s profession, they’ve augmented their audio every once in awhile with various other players/musical instruments (keyboards, electric guitar, etc.). By 2012, the trio got released over 15 albums, including 2001’s INSTANTLY (designed for Anne-Teresa De Keersmaeker’s Rosas dance business), and 2012’s Unison (documented and released in special event from the band’s 20th wedding anniversary). Released in 2015, The Scarlatti Reserve included visitor pianist Fabian Fiorini in the lineup, and highlighted Cassol compositions motivated with the sonatas of Neopolitan composer Domenico Scarlatti.
