AK-Momo

The Swedish digital pop duo AK-Momo features singer/lyricist/keyboardist AK von Malmborg and producer/multi-instrumentalist Mattias Olsson, who also works together with Nanook from the North and Pineforest Crunch. The music group happened in summer season 2003, when Olsson and von Malmborg, who’s also a video designer, met in a pub and made a decision to collaborate. At Olsson’s Stockholm studio room, the set explored the sensitive, oddly organic noises of vintage consumer electronics like the Optigan, Mellotron, and Orchestran, and discovered themselves writing tunes almost immediately. Although tunes that became their debut recording, Go back to N.Con., were mostly carried out by enough time von Malmborg remaining Stockholm for London by the end of the summertime, it took before end of the entire year for Olsson to combine and polish them. Go back to N.Con. premiered in European countries in 2004, and was released within the U.S. by Hidden Plan early the next year.
