Merging the inward gaze of lo-fi using the more gregarious pleasures of indie pop, Airport Girl certainly are a six-piece (sometimes eight-piece) ensemble from England that has quietly amassed an extraordinary réamounté, recording for a few of the country’s most well-respected independent brands. Airport Girl’s primary lineup contains Rob Cost on electric guitar, banjo, harmonica, and vocals, Robert Perris on business lead guitar, Sean Cost on bass, David Hill on keyboards, Richard Blackburn on electrical piano, and Jon Troy on drums; auxiliary associates Tom McClure on violin and Rob Fleay on trumpet use the group as their schedules permit. Airport terminal Girl produced their documented debut in the springtime of 1998 using a 7″ EP on Fortuna Pop, Between Delta & Delaware; a couple of months afterwards, they made an appearance on Seven Summers, a compilation released by Kindercore Information. In nov 2000, Airport Gal released their epic pop declaration “The Foolishness THAT PEOPLE Create Through Like May be the Closest We Arrive to Greatness” as an individual on Fortuna Pop; it had been a preview from the group’s initial full-length record, Honey, I’m an Musician, which was released by Matinee Recordings close to the end of 2000. A four-song EP, Perform You Wish in Color?, made an appearance on Matinee in 2003, even though Where It’s at Is normally WHAT YOUR LOCATION IS Records released a 7″ one, “Salinger Wrote” b/w “Emmaweg Home,” in 2004. In early 2007, Airport terminal Girl’s second full-length record, the eagerly anticipated Decrease Light, finally made an appearance through Fortuna Pop.
