Ahdri Zhina Mandiela

Jamaica given birth to and Toronto based Ahdri Zhina Mandiela is a dub poet and theater movie director. Furthermore to two books of her poetry released by Sister Eyesight Press — Speshal Rikwes, released in 1985, and Dark Diaspora….In Dub, posted in 1991 — Mandiela has documented two cassettes of her poetry established to music, Initial and Last and Barefoot and Dark, and a 15-track Compact disc, Stage/Into My Hat. Mandiela, whose function is presented in the autobiographical 1997 documentary film, On/Dark/Stage/Ladies: A Diasporic Rag, may be the editor from the poetry series, On/Dark/Stage/Ladies: The Playwrites. Mandiela’s poetry is roofed in a number of anthologies of modern Canadian poets like the Last Word, released by Insomniac Press, and Steering wheel Come Again, released by Goose Street Editions.
