The Uk trio of Agincourt made one rare, privately pressed LP in 1970, Fly Away. It’s fine second-tier United kingdom folk-rock, and even though the adjective “haunting” can be overused in explanation of the genre generally, songwriters Peter Howell and John Fernando actually had that element down, with a larger pop savvy than a lot of people employed in the U.K. folk-rock field. Female vocalist Lee Menelaus curved out the trio, which easily integrated both man and female business lead and history vocals. The recording was reissued on Compact disc in 1994, as well as the musicians seems on produces by other organizations in the past due ’60s and early ’70s, including Alice With the Looking Cup, Ithaca, and Tomorrow Arrive Some Day.
